In a distressing incident at Sanskriti Model School in Panchkula, Haryana, an eight-year-old boy assaulted a six-year-old girl, resulting in life-threatening injuries. The attack took place on October 28, where disturbing footage captured the boy dragging the kindergartener within the classroom, violently banging her head against a desk, and subsequently kicking her while she lay on the ground.
The video evidence reveals a prolonged assault that lasted over a minute, during which the boy used stones and a flower pot as weapons against the girl. After the brutal attack, the girl lost consciousness and was found bleeding on the floor. The boy reportedly did not cease his aggression until he left the classroom.
Upon the arrival of the girl's parents, the accused boy directed them to her, stating, "Aapki bacchi yaha padi hai (Your daughter is lying here)." They immediately transported her to a nearby Civil Hospital for urgent care. Given the severity of her injuries, she was later referred to PGI Chandigarh, where she remains in serious condition.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, focusing on the circumstances that allowed such violence to occur in a school setting. The victim's uncle claimed that the boy had previously exhibited aggressive behavior, including prior complaints about him attacking animals. This has raised significant concerns regarding child safety and the responsibilities of school administration in monitoring student behavior.
In response to the incident, Haryana's Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda has established a committee to thoroughly investigate the matter. He emphasized the importance of child safety, stating that no negligence would be tolerated and that strict actions would be enforced against those responsible. The incident has sparked a broader discussion about the need for enhanced safety measures in schools across the region.
