A man was caught attempting to steal a mobile phone from a moving train in Bihar.

The incident has sparked discussions on the risks of intervening in thefts and the reactions of bystanders.
In a startling incident at the Shivnarayanpur railway station in Bihar's Bhagalpur district, a man attempting to snatch a mobile phone from a moving train was apprehended by vigilant passengers. As the train began to pull away, the passengers managed to grab hold of his hand, resulting in a dramatic scene where he was dragged along the platform until he fell and sustained injuries.
The incident unfolded when the thief reached through the window of a moving train to snatch a mobile phone from a passenger. Quick to react, nearby passengers seized his hand, preventing his escape. However, instead of releasing him as the train continued its journey, they held on, leaving him in a precarious position as he dangled from the window, struggling to keep pace with the moving train.
A video capturing the event quickly went viral on social media, highlighting the chaotic scene. As the train approached the end of the platform, the passengers lost their grip, causing the man to fall to the ground. Railway security personnel promptly intervened and took him into custody following the fall.
This incident has raised significant concerns regarding the safety and ethical implications of intervening in theft attempts. While some social media users praised the passengers for their quick action, others criticized the decision to hold onto the thief as the train moved, pointing out that such actions could lead to severe injuries or worse outcomes.
Authorities are currently investigating the matter, including verifying the identity of the man involved and the details surrounding the theft attempt. The incident has ignited a broader conversation about public safety and the responsibilities of bystanders in similar situations.
