Nvidia has officially announced that its new RTX Spark Windows PCs are set to launch in October 2026. These innovative systems are designed to efficiently manage local AI workloads while also catering to gaming and creative applications. The announcement was made at the IFA 2026 event, where Nvidia emphasized the advancements in local inference performance and the ease of running AI agents on their hardware.
The RTX Spark platform integrates a powerful 1-petaflop RTX Blackwell GPU, up to 128GB of unified memory, and a 20-core Grace CPU. This combination allows the hardware to support both local AI agents and demanding gaming tasks. Nvidia's Windows Agent framework will facilitate the operation of background AI agents, with built-in controls for user convenience. Lenovo showcased its Yoga Pro 9n and Yoga 9n 2-in-1 models based on this platform, while Acer presented a compact desktop design.
In addition to the hardware, Nvidia announced software updates aimed at simplifying the setup of local AI models. These updates include enhancements for existing applications such as llama.cpp and vLLM, which reportedly improve local inference performance by up to 1.9 times on the GeForce RTX 5090. Nvidia also highlighted the support from several game publishers, including Electronic Arts and Ubisoft, for the RTX Spark platform, indicating a strong ecosystem for developers.
The introduction of the Personal AI Router (PAIR) tool stands out as a significant development. This free, open-source utility allows users to distribute AI inference requests across compatible PCs within the same local network. The beta version of PAIR supports multiple operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux, as well as a range of Nvidia GPUs, ensuring broad accessibility for users.
Looking ahead, the upcoming launch of the RTX Spark PCs and associated software marks a pivotal moment for Nvidia as it seeks to establish a foothold in the local AI processing market. With the anticipated release in October, industry observers will be keen to see how these innovations impact both consumer and professional sectors, particularly in gaming and creative industries.
