Apple is gearing up for its annual launch event scheduled for September 9, where it is anticipated that the company will unveil the highly awaited iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. This event marks a significant moment as it will be the first major product launch under the leadership of new CEO John Ternus, who has taken over from Tim Cook.
In addition to the flagship iPhones, several other products are rumored to be announced during the event. Among the most talked-about is the potential introduction of Apple's first foldable smartphone, speculated to be named the iPhone Ultra. This device is expected to feature a book-style folding design, akin to Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold series, marking Apple's entry into the foldable market.
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are also expected to see notable hardware enhancements. Reports suggest that these models may come with larger batteries, a more compact Dynamic Island, and an innovative variable-aperture camera system. Additionally, there are whispers of new color options, including a striking dark cherry purple finish, which could attract a wider range of consumers.
Apple is likely to refresh its smartwatch lineup with the introduction of the Apple Watch Series 12. According to industry insiders, the premium ceramic case option may return, alongside new band combinations and enhanced health features. However, a significant redesign is not anticipated for this iteration.
The event will also provide insights into pricing and availability for the new devices. Early reports indicate that the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max may come with a higher price tag compared to their predecessors, although Apple has yet to confirm this. The company is expected to announce release dates for all newly unveiled products, making this event one of the most significant launches in recent years, extending beyond just the iPhone 18 Pro Max.
