Twenty-one residents of Tamil Nadu, who were part of a group of pilgrims rescued from Nepal, arrived in Chennai late Friday night after being evacuated to India via New Delhi. The group, consisting of friends and relatives from Chidambaram and Mayiladuthurai, faced perilous conditions due to flash floods that left many stranded.
Upon their return, one pilgrim recounted their experience, explaining how they were initially moved to a rescue camp and later to an Army camp before being taken to the Indian Embassy. They were flown to New Delhi and then traveled to Chennai. Rural Development Minister N. Anand welcomed them in Chennai, assuring that the State government was taking all necessary measures for their welfare and safe return.
