Dialogue and service are essential for social change
During an event in New York City, Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), stated that Hindutva does not exclude Muslims from India. He asserted that any Hindu who believes Muslims should not have a place in Bharat ceases to be a true Hindu. Bhagwat emphasized the need for unity among different religions, highlighting that humanity is one despite religious differences.
He also pointed out the RSS's commitment to service, mentioning that around 130,000 service projects are run by volunteers. Bhagwat recounted an incident in Dadri, Haryana, where RSS volunteers assisted in funeral arrangements for victims of a tragic accident, demonstrating their inclusive approach. He called for a shift from self-interest to collective responsibility, advocating for dialogue and service as pathways to social change.
