In a recent statement, Karnataka's Public Works Department Minister Satish Jarkiholi admitted that the inclusion of B Nagendra in Chief Minister D K Shivakumar's cabinet led to significant embarrassment for the Congress party. This controversy arose due to allegations linking Nagendra to a scam involving the Karnataka State Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation. Following public outcry, Nagendra has resigned, which Jarkiholi believes should resolve the matter.
Jarkiholi clarified that while the state CID has cleared Nagendra of wrongdoing, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is still conducting its investigation. He mentioned that the party is considering appointing another individual from the scheduled tribe community to fill the vacancy left by Nagendra's resignation. Additionally, Jarkiholi addressed concerns regarding drought-affected taluks, stating that further announcements would be made soon as reports have been submitted to the government regarding the situation.
