The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall across several states including Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, and Gangetic West Bengal this Sunday. Odisha is anticipated to experience the most intense rainfall, with isolated areas facing extremely heavy rain.
In addition to Odisha, states such as Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and parts of the Northeast are also expected to receive significant rainfall. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are predicted in various regions, particularly in eastern, central, and southern India. The IMD forecasts that this active rainfall pattern will persist through September 4, affecting multiple regions across the country.
