In a devastating incident early Saturday, three pilgrims were killed and seven others injured when a bus from Maharashtra collided with a trailer on the Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway in the Bagru area of Jaipur. The accident occurred around 1:50 AM as the bus was descending a culvert, leading to a tragic outcome for those on board.
The bus was transporting 28 devotees from Nashik to the Sanwariya Seth temple in Chittorgarh after a visit to the Khatushyamji temple. Eyewitnesses reported that the trailer was on fire at the time of the collision. Local police and residents quickly responded to the scene, rescuing those trapped inside the wreckage and transporting the injured to Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital in Jaipur.
According to Bagru station house officer Chandrabhan, the deceased have been identified as Mahendra (38), Sandeep (45), and Deepak (47). The injured passengers were treated at the trauma center of SMS Hospital, where two individuals were reported to be in critical condition. The hospital's trauma officer, Rajendra Mandia, confirmed that three patients were under observation while two others were discharged after receiving first aid.
This tragic event highlights ongoing concerns about road safety in the region, particularly for vehicles carrying large groups of passengers. The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine the exact cause. This incident follows another recent accident in the area where four individuals died after their car plunged into a ditch due to a tire burst.
