Natural Sugar Mill Launches 25th Crushing Season Ahead of Schedule

Natural Sugar Mill has officially kicked off its 25th crushing season on October 9, 2023, setting an ambitious target of processing 12 lakh metric tonnes of sugarcane. This early start precedes Maharashtra's official timeline of October 15, allowing the mill to begin operations ahead of schedule. The event was marked by a traditional puja performed by sugarcane grower Anil Kakasaheb Deshmukh and his wife, Vidya Deshmukh, in the presence of the mill's founder Chairman, B.B. Thombre.
The mill has registered 14,200 hectares for sugarcane cultivation, which includes both member and non-member farmers. Thombre emphasized that the mill intends to procure the entire registered crop, adhering to its crushing schedule. He highlighted the importance of prioritizing sugarcane procurement from registered farmers, particularly those whose crops have suffered from water scarcity, urging them to supply their sugarcane to the mill.
During the inauguration ceremony, the mill recognized employees who excelled in the previous season, as well as farmers who contributed the highest quantities of sugarcane. Additionally, contractors involved in harvesting and transportation were also honored, receiving cash awards and certificates of appreciation for their outstanding contributions.
The event was organized under the guidance of Director Pandurang Awhad, who delivered the introductory remarks, while promoter Kishor Dhale expressed gratitude during the vote of thanks. The ceremony was attended by various stakeholders, including directors, promoters, members, officials, and employees, reflecting the collaborative spirit of the mill's operations.
Looking ahead, Natural Sugar Mill is poised to play a significant role in the local agricultural economy as it embarks on this new season.
