Maharashtra CM Fadnavis Honors Nana Patekar at Pune Airport

On October 8, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis paid his last respects to renowned actor Nana Patekar at Pune airport, where the actor's body was brought for final rites. Fadnavis laid floral tributes and extended condolences to Patekar's family, offering support during this challenging time.

The ceremony at Pune airport was a solemn occasion, reflecting the deep respect for Patekar's contributions to the film industry. Following the tributes, the actor's remains were transported to his ancestral village, Donje, in Pune Rural, where a state funeral is planned to honor his legacy.

The Maharashtra government has declared a state funeral for Patekar, acknowledging his significant impact on Marathi and Hindi cinema, as well as his philanthropic efforts. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also visited Donje to pay his respects, underscoring the state's recognition of the actor's contributions.

Earlier, a large crowd of fans gathered at the GMC morgue in Bambolim, Goa, to bid farewell to Patekar. Many fans expressed their admiration by offering garlands and paying their respects by touching his feet. After the public homage, the actor's body was moved to an ambulance for the final journey.

Nana Patekar passed away following a severe cardiac arrest while in Goa. Despite efforts by medical staff at Manipal Hospital to revive him for approximately 45 minutes, he could not be saved. Dr. Shekhar Salkar, head of the Oncology Department at the hospital, confirmed the news. Since the announcement of his passing, tributes have flooded social media, with fans, celebrities, and political figures commemorating his remarkable legacy in the entertainment industry.
