17-Year-Old Girl Dies in Mira Road Motorcycle Accident

A tragic incident occurred on Monday afternoon in Mira Road, resulting in the death of a 17-year-old girl named Bhoomi Mishra. The accident took place around 1:30 PM under the Silver Park flyover when Mishra fell from a motorcycle driven by her friend, Yash Mali, also 17. The motorcycle collided with a tempo, leading to a fatal outcome for Mishra, who was struck by the wheel of an unauthorized trolley attached to the tempo.
According to reports, Yash Mali had borrowed his aunt's motorcycle for a trip to Kashimira with Mishra to purchase goggles. As they traveled along Mira-Bhayandar Road, Mali attempted to maneuver the motorcycle through a tight gap between an autorickshaw and the tempo. Witnesses indicated that the motorcycle was traveling at a high speed, causing Mali to lose control and crash into the tempo, resulting in Mishra's fall.
Following the accident, the tempo driver fled the scene. The police have since registered a case against both Mali and the unidentified driver under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act. Assistant Police Inspector Parag Bhati from the Mira Road police station stated, "We have conducted a spot panchnama. Prima facie, the accident appears to have occurred due to the boy’s mistake. Efforts are on to trace the absconding tempo driver."
The incident has raised concerns about road safety and the responsibilities of young drivers. The local community is mourning the loss of Bhoomi Mishra, highlighting the need for increased awareness regarding safe driving practices among teenagers.
