In a remarkable achievement for AIIMS Nagpur, three of its faculty members have been included in the World’s Top 2% Scientists List for 2026. The recognized individuals are Dr. Prashant P. Joshi, the Executive Director and CEO; Dr. Jaya Prasad Tripathy, an Additional Professor; and Dr. Aravind P. Gandhi, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Medicine. The World’s Top 2% Scientists List is compiled using citation data sourced from Elsevier’s Scopus database, in collaboration with researchers from Stanford University. Formally known as the Updated Science-Wide Author Databases of Standardized Citation Indicators, the list employs various bibliometric indicators to assess researchers' citation impacts. These include total citations, the h-index, co-authorship-adjusted metrics, and a composite citation score, reflecting both career-long and recent research impacts.
