Annual initiative by ABVP
In Nagpur, approximately 600 students from 11 different schools and colleges came together to create handmade rakhis for soldiers stationed at Kamptee Cantonment, as part of a special initiative by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). Along with the rakhis, the students penned around 100 heartfelt letters in Marathi, expressing their gratitude and respect for the armed forces.
The ABVP emphasized that this initiative aims to foster a sense of connection for soldiers who are away from their families during Raksha Bandhan. Each year, ABVP units across India organize similar events to honor the dedication of soldiers and to make them feel at home during the festive season. The rakhis and letters were successfully delivered to the soldiers, reinforcing the bond between the community and the military.
