On October 21, 2026, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) launched a significant campaign aimed at enhancing financial inclusion and facilitating re-KYC processes at Deekshabhoomi in Nagpur. This initiative, which is part of a nationwide effort directed by the Department of Financial Services (DFS) under the Ministry of Finance, will continue until December 31, 2026. The campaign's primary objectives include promoting re-KYC, C-KYC, access to social security schemes, and raising awareness about digital fraud.

The inauguration ceremony was led by Shri Sachin Y Shende, the Regional Director of RBI, Nagpur, alongside notable figures such as Ms. Anjana Shyamnath, Deputy General Manager of Financial Inclusion and Development Department, and Shri Arup Patra, Zonal Manager of Bank of India. During the event, the Regional Director underscored the critical nature of completing re-KYC formalities to ensure uninterrupted banking services and the effective management of bank accounts. He also highlighted how social security schemes can significantly enhance financial security for beneficiaries.

Deekshabhoomi, a revered site in Nagpur that attracts numerous visitors, served as an ideal venue for spreading financial literacy. To maximize outreach, the campaign featured financial awareness messages displayed on LED screens and audio announcements regarding re-KYC played hourly. Additionally, notebooks with financial information, pamphlets, and refreshments were distributed to thousands of attendees, fostering greater public engagement.

The RBI has urged the public to complete their re-KYC processes by visiting their nearest bank branch or Business Correspondent during the campaign period. This initiative aims to ensure that individuals have updated identification and address details, which are essential for maintaining their banking relationships.

Looking ahead, the RBI will continue to monitor the effectiveness of this campaign and its impact on financial inclusion across Nagpur and beyond. The ongoing efforts are expected to significantly enhance public awareness regarding financial services and security measures in the coming months.
