New Special Train from Nagpur to Samastipur for Diwali 2026
Central Railway introduces a special train service to accommodate festive travelers between Nagpur and Samastipur during Diwali and Chhath.
Special train service 01207/01208 operates weekly from October 21 to November 11, 2026.
Train 01207 departs Nagpur every Wednesday, while Train 01208 returns every Friday.
The train features 18 coaches, including sleeper and AC classes, catering to increased passenger demand.
In anticipation of the heightened passenger traffic during the Diwali and Chhath Puja festivities, the Central Railway's Nagpur Division has announced a special train service connecting Nagpur and Samastipur in Bihar. This initiative aims to provide additional travel options for those returning home for the celebrations.
The special train, designated as service number 01207/01208, will operate weekly, with Train 01207 departing from Nagpur every Wednesday from October 21 to November 11, 2026. The journey will take approximately 25 hours, with the train scheduled to leave Nagpur at 10:40 AM and arrive in Samastipur at 11:45 PM the following day. Key stations along the route include Itarsi, Bhopal, Jhansi, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Chhapra, and Muzaffarpur, ensuring connectivity through Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar.
For the return journey, Train 01208 will operate every Friday from October 23 to November 13, 2026. Passengers can expect the train to depart Samastipur at 3:00 AM and reach Nagpur at 11:30 AM the next day. This service will also traverse significant stations such as Muzaffarpur, Hajipur, Sonpur, and Gorakhpur, providing a comprehensive travel experience.
The special train is equipped with a total of 18 coaches, which include 6 Sleeper Class coaches, 6 General Second Class coaches, 4 AC 3-Tier coaches, and 2 SLRD coaches designated for luggage and guard services. This arrangement is designed to accommodate the surge in travelers during the festive season, ensuring comfort and convenience.
