In a significant case of alleged land fraud, Nagpur police have registered a complaint involving ₹66 lakh under the jurisdiction of Nandanvan police station. Three individuals have been charged for reportedly deceiving a buyer by showcasing agricultural land that they did not own, utilizing counterfeit Aadhaar and PAN cards to facilitate the transaction.
The complainant, Shivraj Thakre, was in search of agricultural land when he encountered the accused. They purportedly showed him approximately 3.49 hectares of land located in the Mouza Bharatwada area along Katol Road, claiming it belonged to Anant Haribhau Kukde. The negotiations for the land deal were said to be around ₹1.31 crore.
According to the police report, Ganesh Dande, along with accomplices Hirasingh and Nana Nikose, allegedly created fake identity documents in the name of Anant Kukde. Authorities believe that these forged documents, along with a bank account, were integral to the fraudulent land transaction.
The complainant stated that he paid a total of ₹66 lakh through various means, including cash and cheques, based on the fraudulent land deal. The scam was uncovered when Thakre discovered inconsistencies regarding the ownership of the land and the authenticity of the documents presented during the transaction, prompting him to file a complaint with the Nandanvan Police.
Following the complaint, police have initiated an investigation, registering an FIR against the three suspects under relevant sections for cheating and forgery. They are currently reviewing land records, financial transactions, and the alleged counterfeit identity documents, with further actions pending based on their findings.
