Nagpur MLA Files Complaint After Job Offer Scam Call
Krishna Khopde reports a suspicious job offer from a caller claiming to be an SBI manager.
MLA Krishna Khopde received a fraudulent job offer call.
The caller identified himself as an SBI manager but used a different name.
Police have started an investigation to trace the caller's identity.
In a concerning incident, Krishna Khopde, the MLA from East Nagpur, has filed a police complaint following a suspicious phone call he received on October 10. The unidentified caller, who claimed to be a manager at the State Bank of India (SBI), allegedly offered Khopde three job vacancies at the bank.
Khopde's complaint, submitted to the Lakadganj police, highlighted a significant inconsistency in the caller's identity. While the caller introduced himself as Singh, a mobile application revealed the name Rohit associated with the phone number. This discrepancy raised alarms for Khopde, who recognized the number as one he had previously received a similar call from, prompting him to suspect fraudulent activity.
In his complaint, Khopde urged the police to take action against the unidentified caller, emphasizing the need for investigation into the matter. The Lakadganj police have confirmed that they are actively pursuing the case and have initiated a probe to trace the phone number in question, aiming to uncover the caller's true identity and intentions.
This incident raises broader concerns about the prevalence of job scams, particularly in the financial sector, where individuals may exploit the trust associated with established institutions like SBI. Such fraudulent activities not only threaten individuals but also undermine public confidence in legitimate job offerings.
As the investigation unfolds, authorities are expected to enhance awareness about such scams, urging citizens to remain vigilant when receiving unsolicited job offers. The police are committed to resolving this case swiftly and ensuring that those responsible face appropriate legal consequences.
