Police have registered a case against three individuals under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

In a disturbing incident late Sunday night, a 35-year-old man named Rahul Kanojia was assaulted by three individuals following a dispute regarding a parked car in Nagpur. The altercation took place around 11 p.m. near a grocery store in the Ambazari police station area, where Kanojia was traveling with his wife and two relatives from Indore.

According to police reports, the trouble began when a parked vehicle obstructed Kanojia's car as they were returning from a visit to relatives. After he honked to signal for the car to move, three men, including one identified as Bhanuse, exited the parked car and began verbally abusing him. When Kanojia confronted them, he was struck on the head with an iron rod, resulting in injuries that required medical attention at a private hospital in Ravi Nagar.

The Ambazari police have initiated legal proceedings against the three assailants under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which addresses offenses such as causing bodily harm, criminal intimidation, and intentional insult. This incident is part of a worrying trend in Nagpur, where similar road rage incidents have been reported recently.

On September 20, three other assaults linked to parking disputes were documented, including an attack with a rod in the Pachpaoli area and another incident involving a youth who was struck after a minor collision. Additionally, a retired man was assaulted near a club in Dhantoli for honking at pedestrians obstructing the road.

As road rage incidents continue to rise in Nagpur, authorities are urged to address the underlying issues contributing to these violent confrontations. The police are investigating these cases further, and community awareness campaigns may be necessary to prevent future occurrences and ensure public safety on the roads.
