In a troubling incident in Jaitala, Nagpur, a man named Amol Jawali, aged 35, was reportedly assaulted by his wife and brother-in-law during a domestic dispute on Wednesday. The altercation took place at the home of his wife's maternal grandmother, where she had been residing since the Ganpati festival. Jawali had gone there to persuade her to return home, but when she refused, a heated argument ensued.
According to Jawali's complaint filed with the MIDC police, the confrontation escalated quickly. He alleged that both his wife and her brother, Monu Kodape, verbally abused him before physically attacking him with a wooden stick, resulting in injuries to his head. The police have since registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused.
Jawali, who operates a laundry business, has faced personal tragedies, including the death of his first wife. He has a son from that marriage who is currently studying at an ashram school in Akola. The incident has raised concerns regarding domestic violence and the safety of individuals in domestic settings.
As of now, the accused have not been apprehended, and the police are continuing their investigation into the matter. This incident highlights the urgent need for addressing domestic disputes and ensuring the safety of victims in such situations.
