Aman Kaitwar, the alleged mastermind behind the Bhandewadi murder, has been apprehended in Uttar Pradesh after evading capture for nearly three months.
Aman Kaitwar was arrested in Uttar Pradesh after being on the run since July 2.
The murder of Ganesh Borkar involved a conspiracy that included the victim's wife and others.
Authorities are investigating the motives behind the murder, which may stem from marital discord.
In a significant development in the Bhandewadi murder investigation, police have captured Aman Kaitwar, also known as Nato, who is believed to be the mastermind behind the killing of Ganesh Borkar. The incident occurred on July 2 in Hanuman Nagar, where Borkar was fatally attacked by three masked assailants. Kaitwar had been evading law enforcement for nearly three months before being located in Uttar Pradesh, following a tip-off that led to his arrest.
The murder case has already seen the arrest of several individuals, including Borkar's wife, Manisha, and others believed to be involved in the conspiracy. The police have remanded Kaitwar into custody until October 16, allowing them to interrogate him regarding the planning and execution of the murder, as well as the roles of the other accused.
On the night of the murder, Borkar was assaulted with sharp weapons, resulting in fatal injuries. Following the attack, police initiated an investigation that revealed a conspiracy involving individuals known to the victim. This led to the arrests of four suspects, including Manisha, who allegedly conspired with others to eliminate her husband due to ongoing domestic disputes.
The investigation suggests that marital discord may have been a motive for the murder, with allegations that Manisha had received threats from Borkar. Authorities are examining the possibility that contract killers were hired to carry out the attack, and Kaitwar's interrogation is expected to shed light on the conspiracy's details and the connections among the accused.
With Kaitwar now in custody, police are focusing on reconstructing the events leading to the murder. They aim to clarify the roles of each suspect and how the attack was orchestrated. The investigation remains active, and further insights are anticipated from Kaitwar's questioning.
