Held at the MIHAN campus, the gathering featured over 60 mentors from various sectors, focusing on professional guidance and leadership development for students enrolled in the Professional Management Practice (PMP) programme.
The Margdarshak initiative is part of an eight-month mentoring program aimed at providing students with practical insights from seasoned professionals. This initiative is crucial for helping students transition from academic environments to corporate settings, equipping them with a clearer understanding of workplace dynamics and expectations.
Dr. Pushp Kumar Joshi, the former Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), served as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized the significance of mentorship in professional success, urging students to engage in open communication with their mentors. He highlighted the necessity of self-reflection and meaningful dialogue to maximize the benefits of mentorship.
Dr. Joshi also discussed the evolving demands of the workplace, particularly the need for emotional quotient (EQ), intelligence quotient (IQ), and spiritual quotient (SQ) as artificial intelligence transforms job roles. He encouraged students to pursue personal aspirations beyond mere professional achievements, stating, "My life is bigger than my profession." He advocated for the early development of spiritual intelligence as a foundation for self-esteem.
The event featured insights from various corporate leaders, including Sajjad Ahmed Shaik from Capgemini and Neha Mathur, former Chief HR Officer of Urban Company. Their discussions underscored the importance of industry exposure in preparing students for the challenges of the corporate world. The program also included presentations and cultural performances by students, enhancing the interactive nature of the event. Overall, Margdarshak Meet 2026 reinforced the critical role of structured mentorship in bridging academic learning with real-world professional experiences, highlighting that success in today's technology-driven environment requires emotional maturity, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous learning.
