In a significant breakthrough, Nagpur police arrested Shraddha Dubey, the main suspect in the murder of Shiva Sharma, a cafe owner from Lucknow. The arrest occurred on Sunday after a meticulous 10-day search that involved tracking her movements through e-rickshaw transportation, which ultimately led authorities to a rented flat on the 11th floor of an apartment in Chinchbhuvan.

The investigation was initiated when Uttar Pradesh Police sought assistance from Nagpur's police commissioner, Vishwas Nangare Patil, after discovering that Dubey and her accomplices were fleeing towards central India. DCP Deepak Agarwal of the Crime Branch was tasked with the operation, forming specialized teams to follow various leads and establish the suspects' whereabouts.

According to police reports, Dubey, along with her sister Rashmi and driver Tanveer Ali, utilized a rented vehicle with Uttar Pradesh plates to reach Nagpur. They then switched to an e-rickshaw, a pivotal move that helped police trace their route. By analyzing footage from approximately 200 CCTV cameras, investigators were able to pinpoint the location of the flat where the suspects were hiding.

The police maintained surveillance on the apartment until personnel from the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force arrived to assist in the arrest. The trio was taken into custody and is expected to be presented in court for transit remand before being transferred to Lucknow on Wednesday. Shraddha had been evading capture by moving through various locations, including Nepal and several cities in Uttar Pradesh, while reportedly disguising herself in a burqa.

The case revolves around the death of 27-year-old Shiva Sharma, who fell from a building on October 9. His mother has accused Dubey and her associates of murder, alleging that Sharma faced threats and harassment. While Dubey claimed innocence in a video, stating that Sharma's death was a suicide, police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. The recent arrests in Nagpur are expected to provide crucial insights into the events leading up to Sharma's tragic death.
