Notably, Suryoday Small Finance Bank (SFB) has introduced the highest rate of 8.60% for senior citizens, while general customers can earn up to 8.25%. This adjustment reflects a competitive banking environment aimed at attracting depositors across various tenures.
Suryoday SFB implemented these revised rates effective October 30, 2026. For a five-year deposit, senior citizens are eligible for the top rate of 8.60%, while general customers can receive 8.25%. The bank also offers 8.01% for an 18-month deposit and 8.10% for a 30-month deposit, with slightly higher rates for seniors in both categories.

Investors are advised to carefully compare the interest rates offered by different banks and consider factors such as the additional interest for senior citizens, terms for premature withdrawal, and the applicable tax on FD interest. Understanding these elements is crucial for optimizing returns on fixed deposits.
