Both Reliance Industries and Jio Platforms show strong growth in their Q2 2026 results, raising investor interest.
Reliance Industries' revenue increased by 27.8% YoY to ₹3,62,268 crore.
Jio Platforms reported a user base of 542.4 million, with ARPU rising to ₹218.8.
Experts suggest a strategic choice between Reliance's diversified portfolio and Jio's digital growth.
Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) and Jio Platforms Ltd (JPL), both led by Mukesh Ambani, announced their Q2 2026 financial results on Friday, showcasing significant year-on-year growth. RIL reported a remarkable recovery in its oil-to-chemicals (O2C) segment, while JPL highlighted strong EBITDA margins and an increase in average revenue per user (ARPU).
The Q2 results for Reliance Industries revealed a consolidated revenue growth of 27.80% year-on-year, reaching ₹3,62,268 crore. EBITDA also saw a substantial increase of 23.9% to ₹62,409 crore, with net profit soaring by 33.80% to ₹29,550 crore. Analysts attribute this growth to a robust recovery in the O2C business, which is expected to continue into the next quarter, leading to optimistic forecasts for Q3 2026.
On the other hand, Jio Platforms reported a consolidated revenue increase of 11.30% year-on-year, totaling ₹47,485 crore, with net profit rising by 16.60% to ₹21,879 crore. The company’s user base expanded to 542.4 million, including 300 million 5G users, and ARPU climbed to ₹218.8. Additionally, JPL's net debt decreased to ₹8,800 crore, with expectations of further reductions following a successful IPO that raised ₹30,200 crore.
Comparing the two companies, analysts suggest that investors must consider their risk appetite. Mahesh M Ojha from KC Securities noted that while JPL offers a pure digital growth opportunity, Reliance Industries represents a safer investment due to its diversified operations. The technical outlook for Reliance shares indicates a strong base at ₹1,145, with a target price of ₹1,265 in the near term.
Looking ahead, investors are advised to monitor both companies closely. Jio Platforms is expected to maintain momentum following its IPO, while Reliance Industries is projected to benefit from ongoing improvements in its O2C margins. Analysts recommend that investors consult financial experts before making any decisions, given the complexities involved in choosing between these two prominent stocks.
