PC Jeweller Ltd. has announced a remarkable 57.6% increase in its net profit for the second quarter of fiscal year 2027, reaching Rs 331 crore, compared to Rs 210 crore during the same period last year. This surge in profit is attributed to a significant rise in revenue and improved operating margins, as detailed in the company's recent exchange filing.

The company's revenue from operations rose by 27.8%, totaling Rs 1,054 crore, up from Rs 825 crore a year earlier. This growth reflects the ongoing expansion of PC Jeweller's business, which has consistently delivered strong returns to investors over the past five years. In addition to its financial performance, the company achieved a critical milestone by becoming debt-free after repaying all outstanding dues to a consortium of 14 banks.

Operating performance also saw a notable enhancement, with EBITDA soaring by 74.4% to Rs 310 crore, compared to Rs 178 crore in the previous year. The EBITDA margin improved to 29.4% from 21.5%, indicating a solid increase in operational profitability. The company has indicated that it expects a significant reduction in finance costs in the latter half of FY27, which is anticipated to positively influence net profits.

In addition to financial improvements, PC Jeweller is set to broaden its retail presence by launching up to 100 large-format showrooms in Tier-I, Tier-II, and Tier-III cities within the next 12 to 18 months. This expansion will utilize a combination of company-owned stores and a franchise model. Furthermore, the company has entered into agreements with the National Skill Development Corporation and the Uttar Pradesh government to enhance its franchise network in smaller towns and rural areas.

Looking ahead, PC Jeweller is also developing a new jewellery brand aimed at younger consumers, focusing on lightweight designs and lab-grown diamonds. Additionally, its subsidiary, PCJ Mining SARL, has commenced development for gold mining operations in Chad, marking a strategic move towards self-sourcing gold. The company is well-positioned to meet the demand during the upcoming festive and wedding seasons, which are crucial for its sales performance.
