On October 1, the Nifty 50 index experienced a modest recovery, climbing 0.6% after four consecutive days of declines. Despite this uptick, the overall market sentiment remains cautious, with the index trading significantly below critical moving averages. Analysts highlight that sustained buying interest in the coming sessions will be essential to bolster confidence among investors, especially as US bond yields and oil prices remain elevated.
The Nifty 50's immediate resistance is positioned at 22,800, followed by the 23,000 to 23,200 range, which is expected to present a significant challenge for upward movement. Conversely, support levels are anticipated at 22,400 and 22,200, the latter being the low recorded on October 1. A breach below 22,200 could exacerbate selling pressure, according to market experts.
In terms of technical indicators, the Nifty 50 formed a small-bodied bullish candle on daily charts, suggesting indecision among traders. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) has risen to 28.15, although it remains below the signal line, indicating a lack of momentum in the recent rebound. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) also remains below its reference line, further emphasizing the prevailing weakness in the market trend.
For the Bank Nifty, resistance levels are identified at 55,073, 55,267, and 55,581, while support is seen at 54,445, 54,251, and 53,937. The Bank Nifty has similarly shown signs of indecision, with a bearish candle formation on the daily chart. The RSI for the Bank Nifty has increased to 36.31 but still lags behind its reference line, indicating that while selling pressure may be easing, a robust buying trend has yet to materialize.
Looking ahead, the market's direction will heavily depend on upcoming trading sessions. The Nifty's Put-Call ratio has increased to 0.94, reflecting a shift towards bullish sentiment, while the India VIX remains elevated at 14.77, signaling ongoing caution among investors. Traders are advised to monitor these indicators closely as they navigate the current market landscape.
