Mercedes-Benz India has announced its highest quarterly sales figures to date, reporting 5,422 vehicles sold in the third quarter of 2026. This represents a 5.92% increase compared to the same period last year, when 5,119 units were sold. Additionally, this figure marks a 17% rise from the previous quarter, showcasing a strong recovery in the luxury automotive market.

The sales performance for the first nine months of 2026 has also been impressive, with total sales reaching 15,190 units. This figure not only exceeds the previous record but also signifies a reversal from a slight decline of 1.72% experienced in 2025. The growth is particularly notable as it surpasses the previous nine-month high by 5.64%, indicating a robust demand for luxury vehicles in India.

Mercedes-Benz's Top-End Luxury segment has been a significant contributor to this growth, with a 13% increase in sales during the January to September period. Models such as the S-Class and the AMG G 63 have driven this demand, with the MANUFAKTUR program accounting for about 75% of these sales. Furthermore, the AMG portfolio saw an 18% growth, reflecting a strong consumer preference for high-performance luxury vehicles.

In terms of product categories, the Core Luxury segment, which includes the C-Class and long-wheelbase E-Class, remains the largest contributor to sales, making up approximately 60% of the total volume. The long-wheelbase E-Class continues to be the best-selling luxury car in India. Meanwhile, the Entry Luxury segment, featuring models like the GLA and CLA BEV, also reported a 4% growth, indicating a well-rounded performance across various price points.

Looking ahead, Mercedes-Benz is set to begin deliveries of the new electrified S-Class in mid-October, with the MANUFAKTUR Edition already sold out for the year. The company is also preparing for the launch of the GLC BEV on November 4, 2026, further expanding its electric vehicle offerings in the Indian market. Managing Director and CEO Santosh Iyer credited the record sales to a strategic product mix and enhanced customer experience initiatives.
