Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a significant order from the Indian government and the Andhra Pradesh state government, with the total value of the contracts estimated between ₹2,500 and ₹5,000 crores. This order falls under the category of 'large' contracts, reflecting the scale of the projects involved.

The company's Public Spaces, Airports & Health (PAH) division will be responsible for constructing two buildings for the Central government, specifically the Common Central Secretariat buildings 4 and 5, located along Kartavya Path in New Delhi. The Central Public Works Department has awarded this order, which will be executed on an engineering, procurement, and construction basis. The project includes a total built-up area of 32.8 lakh square feet, featuring a basement, ground level, and seven additional floors.

In a regulatory filing, L&T detailed that its work scope encompasses structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and external development tasks. The project in Delhi is expected to be completed within 24 months, followed by a five-year period dedicated to operation and maintenance.

Additionally, the Andhra Pradesh government has commissioned L&T to construct two office towers adjacent to the Amaravati Quantum Computing Centre. These towers will consist of a basement, ground level, and 47 floors, with a combined built-up area of 37.5 lakh square feet. The design and build order stipulates that L&T will handle shell and core works, with a completion timeline of 30 months.

The successful acquisition of these contracts is expected to bolster L&T's portfolio and enhance its reputation in the construction sector. As the projects progress, stakeholders will be keenly observing the developments and timelines associated with these significant government initiatives.
