Hyundai Motor India announced a significant increase in its domestic sales for September 2026, totaling 57,166 units. This figure represents a 10.90% rise compared to the 51,547 units sold in the same month last year and a 5.09% increase from August 2026's sales of 54,396 units. The Creta continues to be the best-selling model for the company, although it experienced a year-on-year decline in sales.

The Creta sold 17,657 units in September 2026, marking a 6.38% decrease from 18,861 units in September 2025. However, this was an 8.40% improvement over August's sales of 16,288 units. The Venue followed closely with 11,466 units sold, showing minimal change from 11,484 units a year earlier. Notably, the Exter model saw the largest year-on-year growth, with sales jumping 47.86% to 8,344 units.

In addition to these models, the Aura and i20 also contributed to the sales figures, with the Aura achieving 7,530 units, a 39.78% increase year-on-year. The i20's sales rose by 39.70% to 5,426 units compared to the previous year. The Grand i10 Nios also saw a rise in sales, reaching 5,230 units, although it faced a slight decline from August.

The sales performance of Hyundai's models indicates a robust market presence, particularly for the Exter, i20, and Venue, which together accounted for a significant portion of the sales growth. The company is set to further enhance its SUV lineup with the upcoming Bayon, scheduled for launch on October 26, which will fill the gap between the Venue and Creta.

As Hyundai prepares for the launch of the Bayon, the impact of this new model on the existing lineup remains to be seen. The company anticipates that the Bayon will strengthen its position in the competitive midsize SUV segment, with further details on pricing and deliveries expected to clarify its role in Hyundai's portfolio.
