Eternal Ltd, the parent company of Zomato and Blinkit, announced a remarkable 92% increase in net profit, totaling ₹125 crore for the quarter ending September 30, 2026. This figure marks a significant rise from ₹65 crore reported during the same period last year. However, the profit fell short of market expectations, as analysts had projected a net profit of ₹250 crore, leading to a 3.5% decline in the company's share price, which closed at ₹308.8 on October 21.
The company, which transitioned from the Zomato brand to Eternal in March 2022, had previously reported a net profit of ₹92 crore in the preceding quarter. This latest financial report highlights a substantial growth trajectory, particularly in its consolidated Adjusted EBITDA, which soared by 197% year-on-year and 20% quarter-on-quarter, reaching ₹666 crore.
Eternal's revenue from operations also saw a significant increase, climbing 78% year-on-year to ₹24,138 crore, up from ₹13,590 crore a year earlier. In the previous quarter, the company reported revenue of ₹20,211 crore. However, on a like-for-like basis, the revenue growth was noted at 58% year-on-year, a reflection of Blinkit's strategic shift to inventory ownership implemented last year.
The total expenses for the Gurugram-based company surged by 75% to ₹24,166 crore for the quarter, compared to ₹13,813 crore in the same quarter last year and ₹20,314 crore in the previous quarter. Additionally, the adjusted revenue from Eternal's other ventures, including Bistro and Nugget, rose to ₹132 crore, up from ₹95 crore in the prior quarter, with adjusted EBITDA losses narrowing to ₹91 crore from a loss of ₹94 crore in Q1 FY27.
Looking ahead, investors and analysts will be keenly observing Eternal Ltd's strategies to enhance profitability and manage expenses as the company continues to evolve in a competitive market. Upcoming earnings reports and operational adjustments will be crucial in determining the company's financial trajectory in the coming quarters.
