TVS Motor led the market with 54,037 units sold, followed closely by Bajaj Auto with 48,429 units.

In September 2026, the electric two-wheeler market experienced a remarkable surge, with total sales reaching 207,314 units. This figure represents an impressive year-on-year increase of 88.67% and a month-on-month growth of 13.16% from the 183,204 units sold in August 2026. The growth in sales underscores a significant shift towards electric mobility, driven by rising consumer awareness and preference for eco-friendly transportation options.
The electric two-wheeler segment's market share has now climbed to 11.6%, up from 10.7% in August 2026 and significantly higher than the 8.2% recorded in September 2025. This upward trend indicates a growing acceptance of electric vehicles among consumers, attributed to their lower operating costs and environmental benefits compared to traditional petrol-powered models.
Leading the charge in this market, TVS Motor Company sold 54,037 units in September 2026, marking a staggering 125.87% increase from the same month last year. The demand for their iQube and Orbiter models has been particularly strong, contributing to a month-on-month sales rise of 10.42% from 48,938 units in August. Bajaj Auto followed closely with 48,429 units sold, achieving a remarkable 138.87% growth year-on-year and a 17.79% increase from August sales.
Other manufacturers also made notable contributions to the electric two-wheeler market. Ather Energy sold 30,533 units, reflecting a 55.62% year-on-year increase, while Hero MotoCorp registered 24,321 units, with an 83.34% rise compared to the previous year. Together, these four manufacturers accounted for nearly 75% of total electric two-wheeler sales in September 2026, highlighting their dominance in the sector.
