Dabur, a prominent player in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, announced a significant increase in its net profit for the second quarter of the fiscal year, reaching ₹506 crore. This figure represents an 11.6% rise compared to ₹453 crore during the same period last year, exceeding analyst expectations of ₹498 crore. The results were disclosed on Wednesday, highlighting the company's resilience amid rising raw material costs and steady demand for personal care and packaged food products.
The company's operational revenue also saw a robust increase of 11.6%, climbing to ₹3,563 crore from ₹3,191 crore year-over-year. The growth was attributed to a strong performance across various segments, particularly in the Home & Personal Care (HPC) and food and beverages categories. Herjit S Bhalla, the CEO of Dabur's India business, noted that the company managed to achieve profitable growth despite facing challenges in the external environment, including geopolitical uncertainties and high input costs.
In addition to the financial results, Dabur announced the resignation of its global CEO, Mohit Malhotra, effective November 13, 2026. Following this, the board has approved Bhalla's appointment as a Whole-time Director, pending regulatory approvals, for a five-year term starting November 14, 2026. Bhalla emphasized the importance of the company's brand strength and strategic execution in driving growth during the quarter.
Dabur's India business reported a growth rate of 10.7%, supported by a 5.5% increase in underlying volumes. Notably, premium brands within the portfolio expanded at four times the rate of regular brands, now comprising 20% of the domestic market share. The HPC segment, which includes well-known brands like Odonil and Oxylife, grew by 10.9%, while the food and beverages sector saw an impressive 17.4% growth, driven by strong performance in food products and a recovery in beverages.
Looking ahead, Dabur aims to capitalize on the evolving retail landscape, which presents significant opportunities for growth. Bhalla indicated that the company is focused on enhancing its brand presence across various channels to maintain momentum. As the FMCG sector continues to adapt to market changes, Dabur's strategic initiatives and strong financial performance position it well for future growth.
