Bajaj Finance has announced a remarkable 29% year-on-year increase in its net profit for the second quarter of 2026, reaching ₹6,367 crore. The company, part of the Bajaj Group, also reported substantial growth in net interest income and assets under management (AUM), indicating a robust performance in the financial sector. This announcement comes as the earnings season progresses, with investors keenly analyzing the quarterly results of leading financial stocks.

In the July to September 2026 quarter, Bajaj Finance's AUM grew by 26% to ₹5.85 lakh crore, bolstered by the booking of 13.45 million new loans and an increase in its customer base to 128.85 million. The consolidated profit before tax (PBT) also saw a 29% rise, reaching ₹8,537 crore, while total income surged by 23% to ₹15,974 crore. This performance positions Bajaj Finance favorably compared to its competitors, particularly Reliance's Jio Financial Services and the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA).

IREDA, which focuses on financing renewable energy projects, reported a standalone net profit of ₹891.75 crore for the first half of FY27, marking a 12% increase from the previous year. The agency's total income increased by 14% to ₹4,594.29 crore, driven by strong interest income growth. However, rising finance costs partially offset these gains, highlighting the challenges faced in the renewable energy financing sector.

In contrast, Jio Financial Services experienced a significant downturn, with its net profit plummeting by 51% year-on-year to ₹340.44 crore for the same quarter. Despite a 132% increase in total income, the company's profit decline raises concerns among investors. Market experts have noted that Bajaj Finance's consistent performance stands out in this earnings season, with analysts recommending it as a strong investment option.

Looking ahead, analysts suggest that Bajaj Finance shares may face immediate resistance at ₹1,000, with potential upward movement if this level is surpassed. Meanwhile, IREDA's shares are currently in a bearish trend, facing resistance at ₹112, ₹116, and ₹122. Jio Financial's shares are also projected to face hurdles, indicating a cautious outlook for these stocks in the near term. Investors are advised to stay informed and consult financial experts before making investment decisions.
