Maruti Suzuki has officially launched the facelifted version of its popular Baleno hatchback for the year 2026, priced at ₹6.10 lakh for the base Sigma Petrol MT variant. This new iteration introduces several cosmetic updates and a new engine, aiming to enhance the vehicle's appeal in a competitive market.

The Baleno has been a significant model for Maruti Suzuki, consistently ranking among the top-selling cars in India. The latest facelift retains the familiar design language but adds a more aggressive front with a larger chrome grille and sharper bumper. While the overall dimensions remain unchanged, the car is offered in seven color options, including a new shade called Enigmatic Teal.

In terms of features, the updated Baleno includes minor interior tweaks while maintaining its spacious layout. Notable additions are a wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats, and a new sound system. The vehicle continues to offer a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a head-up display, ensuring a modern driving experience. Safety has been prioritized with the introduction of Level 2 ADAS, enhancing driver assistance capabilities.

Under the hood, the Baleno now houses a new Z-series engine, replacing the older K-series unit. This engine delivers 83 PS of power and offers a fuel efficiency of up to 24.77 km/l, with a CNG variant providing 70 PS and 33.61 km/kg. The car is available with both manual and automated manual transmission options, catering to a wide range of customer preferences.

As the Baleno faces competition from models like the Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz, Maruti Suzuki aims to maintain its stronghold in the hatchback segment. Bookings for the new Baleno have commenced, with an initial deposit of ₹11,000 required. The full pricing for other variants is yet to be announced, but the facelift is expected to bolster the Baleno's market presence significantly.
